Low credit for such a risky project
(Message 111330)
Posted 20 Nov 2011 by zombie67 [MM] Post: Several projects have alternate development sites (RALPH, SETI Beta, etc), and they *all* issue credits. They export them too. No reason to *not* award credits for work done. Yes, DA was not accurate. DA has one "test BOINC clients" project, aka BOINC alpha, does not do real work (just UPPERCASE), and *does not* export stats. On the other hand, his SETI Beta project, which tests new apps and sub-projects, and does real work, *does* exports stats. And RALPH, which is the alpha project for Rosetta@home, which tests new apps, and does real work, *does* exports stats. Amelegrid Testgrid (an active test project for Amelegrid), also exports stats. ABC@home also had a test project, and exported stats. Malaria Control had a test project, and they exported stats. Cels@home also had a test project, and they exported stats. |

Stats export wanted
(Message 111323)
Posted 20 Nov 2011 by zombie67 [MM] Post: Whoa! Hang on now. When did this change happen? Stats *were* being exported. That's why I started crunching this project again, and have since racked up a bunch. If you are going to turn them off, can you please export them one more time? (after we have an opportunity to upload/report all the work in progress, of course) |

No reason to *not* award credits for work done. As for how much/little to award, it doesn't matter, so long as the credit remain internally consistent. Cross-project parity is impossible anyway. |

(Message 111308)
Posted 18 Nov 2011 by zombie67 [MM] Post: I am seeing the same thing. It goes at a normal rate for the first 20% or so, then takes like 10 hours to complete the balance. This is on a 5870. http://albert.phys.uwm.edu/result.php?resultid=34806 |

Posted 18 Nov 2011 by zombie67 [MM] Post: I am running successfully now on my system with ATI 11.11, the AMD SDK 2.5, and BOINC 6.13.12. I do not know if installing the SKD is important or not, but it was one of my steps I took to get it to work initially. Also, I am running on Windows 8 64bit. Dang. I tried that, but still no love. P.S. TM, you need to look at your sig links. Who's EarlW? ;) Edit: I missed one element. Still on 6.12. Lemme try 6.13 (gulp, not easy to go back). |

Posted 8 Oct 2011 by zombie67 [MM] Post: I created settings for "work". But there appears no way to assign a machine to that non-default location. 'Sup with that? |
