The FGRP searh works fine here, approx same crunch time,as Binary Radio Pulsar Search on my GPU,

Great! That's what we are testing here.

Cred payment is to low on this project!!!

This is a test project that may even be used to test crediting, which might or might not work as you expect.

What else can we do other than to write

If you care about credit, this project is certainly not the right one for you.

on the front page (and AFAIK even in the welcome message in external account managers)?

Is there any new progress in this problem?

The way in which BOINC stores server-assigned credit makes it pretty hard to change it once a workunit has been created. We'll certainly change it for the next charge of WUs, but for the ones already generated on this test project I doubt it is worth a day or so of work.

BM

Edit: got a fresh idea and found it wasn't as hard as I expected. Newly validated BRP4U WUs should be granted 63 now.

The fix for the S6BucketLVE validator from Einstein was applied here, too. WU validation should be back to normal from now on (i.e. << 1% invalid tasks).

BM

Edit: When I'm busy on Einstein I usually don't pay much attention to the Forums on Albert. It's certainly a good idea to drop me a PM if something urgent comes up here, or ask over at Einstein if it might be related.

The platform we have an app for is named "arm-unknown-linux-gnueabihf".

You may want to specify this as an alternative platform in your client configuration.

48) Message boards : Problems and Bug Reports : Too much credits for Gamma-ray pulsar search #2 WUs (Message 112312)

I don't think this is a complaint at all.

We changed a couple of things in the setup of FGRP2 compared to FGRP1. As we had no idea which effect all these changes together have on the run time, we left credit and "flops estimate" unchanged until we had a bit more data.

Over on Einstein the wokunit size was already doubled and the flops estimation reduced to a quarter, and the credit will be adjusted, too, as soon as we have not only the fastest tasks reported.

I'm not sure we'll issue any more FGRP2 tasks here on Albert at all, but in case we do, we'll adjust the flops and credit settings here, too.

Thanks for the feedback!

I'm still wondering what's fucked the server up that it's able to send WUs but not to receive 'em, I thought it's the same DB.

FWIW the file upload handler doesn't have a connection to the database. After successful upload the client contacts the scheduler and reports the result, which is where the DB is updated.

And this since 4 days...!!!

Well, most of it was a weekend.

Calm down, this is a test project. "Don't expect anything to work here".

Anyway, thanks for the report.

Result file upload should work again, but some (BRP4) daemons might fail with the same problem (so linking error). And yes, the S6LV1 validation etc. is still not working either.

Due to excessive spamming everyone who wants to post here in the forum is now required to have at least gained a single credit.

If there is someone who wants to post about technical problems that prevent him from getting his first credit, please drop me a PM.

Speaking of silent features: Clients attached to Albert should automatically download a file EatH_mastercat.txt . This is a list of the (radio) pulsar discoveries made by Einstein@Home. Eventually this file will be used to highlight these in the screensaver graphics.

This is my original account http://albert.phys.uwm.edu/show_user.php?userid=8016 from 2005

OMG - that's pretty old indeed. Welcome back!

There have been a couple of changes to Albert (hard- and software) since back then. The current "user" database is basically an old copy of the accounts from Einstein (some 2 years ago). The "account key" is kept in the file account_albert.phys.uwm.edu.xml in your BOINC data directory, but if you recently joined again on this host it should have been overwritten there. However if you have the same account (id) over on Einstein, you should be able to log into your old account here using the key from einstein (account_einstein.phys.uwm.edu.xml).

The name "testing..." is a remnant from the time when we were silently developing and testing the FGRP app before we even had a name for it, long before we officially launched it on Einstein.

I changed the "user friendly name" to "Gamma-ray pulsar search #1", which is consistent with the naming on Einstein.

There was a serious bug in the Linux App that made the program crash when writing a checkpoint.

Should be fixed with the new version 27 out yesterday.

Apparently one of the 'broken beams' (broken Arecibo data) we had on Einstein slipped through to the workunit generator here.

I'm afraid I can't do anything else than just cancel the remaining workunits from that beam ("p2030.20111005.G64.25-00.28.N.b6s0g0").

We're still thinking on how to prevent this in the future.

On Albert we ran several test for S6LV1, such that apparently the workunit generator, application binaries and validator got a bit out of sync. Sorry.

As S6LV1 jobs from Albert aren't needed anymore, I canceled the remaining workunits that had no jobs in progress already last week. I now disabled some checks in the validator such that people should get credit for the remaining S6LV1 jobs.
