Project server code update
(Message 112994)
Posted 17 Jun 2014 by Bernd Machenschalk Post: Attached a new host to Albert, looking through the logs i keep getting the following download error: Was related to the web code update. Shouldn't have affected crunching. Should be fixed now. BM |

Web code updated
(Message 112991)
Posted 17 Jun 2014 by Bernd Machenschalk Post: This link stems from the server status page including the standard BOINC page header that incorporates that link. However the static page actually shown is being built internally without a user being logged in. IMHO this is a design flaw of the BOINC pages; I don't like that being fixed by the individual projects, but will do that nevertheless as soon as time allows. BM |

Project server code update
(Message 112926)
Posted 12 Jun 2014 by Bernd Machenschalk Post: Intel GPUs are now being shown by the project in the computer details pages: Yes, the (old) web code hasn't been updated and probably won't be at all, due to the envisioned (but again postponed) migration to Drupal (see other news). BM |

Project server code update
(Message 112902)
Posted 10 Jun 2014 by Bernd Machenschalk Post: Having urged everyone to run GW/CasA over the weekend, I found I couldn't download any myself - and it looks like we're running low on BRP4 too. Sorry, S6CasA was still throttled due to the validator issues. Has been fixed. The BRP4 WUG should get new data every 12h, currently there are >3000 BRP4 tasks unsent. BM |

Project server code update
(Message 112886)
Posted 5 Jun 2014 by Bernd Machenschalk Post: I enabled another debug flag (debug_array) to possibly get a grip on the app selection issue. This means that the scheduler log excerpts that you see published for your hosts will get even longer. Please don't post these here in all gory detail, these are kept for ~200d on the server for the devs & admins anyway. BM |

Project server code update
(Message 112883)
Posted 5 Jun 2014 by Bernd Machenschalk Post: Thanks for reporting. This looks like a bug to me in current server (scheduler) code. May take a bit of time to investigate, though. BM |

Project server code update
(Message 112866)
Posted 4 Jun 2014 by Bernd Machenschalk Post: Our plan class specs that were (semi-)automatically converted for the new server code were somewhat broken, causing probably all kinds of oddities for GPU tasks. Should be fixed now. BM |

(Message 112845)
Posted 2 Jun 2014 by Bernd Machenschalk Post: The project will be taken down in about an hour to perform an update of the BOINC server code. Ideally you shouldn't notice anything, but usually the world isn't ideal. See you again on the other side. |

Project time-out
(Message 112788)
Posted 2 Feb 2014 by Bernd Machenschalk Post: Sorry, last week really got out of hands. A third of us is sick@home, another third sick-but@work, and work on some unforeseen problems stretched into long planned and announced outages that couldn't be shifted. We got only the highest priority things done and running (like Einstein@Home). If I can't get the work on Albert@Home finished tomorrow (Monday Feb 3), I'll start the project up again in the previous state, which would mean losing about a day of work already done, but get the project running again. FGRP #3 feedback
(Message 112771)
Posted 14 Jan 2014 by Bernd Machenschalk Post: Well, the FGRP GPU app is in the first stage of development, similar to the first BRP GPU App: only the FFT is ran on the GPU, all other computation is still done on the CPU. For the time being we are more concerned to get it running at all and give the same results as the CPU version (i.e. validation). Further improvement is planned with time. The text for the "GPU utilization factor" preference setting actually reads "GPU utilization factor of BRP apps", which obviously does not apply to FGRP apps. We'll add another such setting for FGRP. Wrong Wu's being sent once again ...
(Message 112770)
Posted 14 Jan 2014 by Bernd Machenschalk Post: Did you get these tasks "resent" (see event log)? It would also help if you would check the "venue" of the host in question. Apparently you have a manual app selection for "default" and "home", but separate settings for "work" with no limitations. BM |

App for Intel HD graphics?
(Message 112695)
Posted 10 Jul 2013 by Bernd Machenschalk Post: Should work better now. I fixed some omissions in the scheduler code regarding the intel_gpu (my bad). Also too, clients with old drivers shouldn't get (Intel GPU) work at all (the scheduler log will complain about minimum OpenCL version, required is 1.2). BM |
